Shortly after Pastor Johnson Suleiman was released by the Department of State Securities (DSS), the founder of Omega Fire Ministries was warned by DSS Operatives to keep his mouth shut and cease granting interviews.
Apostle Suleiman who was arrested by DSS Officials on Monday, 30th January following his blunt approach towards the killing of Christians by Fulani Herdsmen was later released yesterday around 11am. Stories making waves claim that the pastor was arrested due to the sermon he gave, beseeching his followers to kill any Fulani herdsman noticed around his church premises.
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, who prevented the pastor from being arrested after the crusade which took place in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state later accompanied him to the DSS office on Monday night. The meeting with the DSS officers was reported to be a cordial and friendly one as confirmed by pastor Suleiman’s spokesperson, Prank Shuaib. He said;
“It was a friendly interview that was devoid of any rancour. We need to commend the DSS operatives because they exhibited the highest degree of professionalism during the interview.”
Apostle Suleman spent about three hours in DSS but his discussion with the DG (Director-General, DSS) about his preaching was 55 minutes. It was a very friendly and cordial meeting between Apostle Suleman and the DG of DSS”. He added.
Reacting to the pastor being warned by the Director General of DSS against public speaking, Prank had this to say;
“The DSS categorically told him that there is the tendency for his followers to misinterpret him while mischief makers could, at the same time, capitalise on it to cause crisis in the country”.
