According to Channels TV, they were released on Saturday night the 25th of February. Peter and his colleague were found unharmed. Reports said both were freed in Katari Village, along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway. Channels TV did not make it clear if the ransom of N60million ($200,000) demanded by the abductors was paid.

Premium Times however noted that a senior officer spoke with them on a condition of anonymity. The senior officer said “Yes, they were released last night (Saturday) by their kidnappers. No ransom was paid, We are expecting an official statement from Force Headquarters, Abuja with details of their release.”
