ASUU Nullifies Meeting With The Federal Government

ASUU blatantly shuns meeting with the Federal Government which was slated for today, 29th of August.

The Academic Staff Union Of Universities, ASUU refused to show up in a meeting that was scheduled for noon today, Tuesday in Abuja. Federal Government was supposed to negotiate with ASUU folllowing the strike that has been ongoing for months now.

 

The meeting which was confirmed in a statement issued by the Deputy Director, Press, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Samuel Olowookere yesterday had no member of ASUU in attendance.

Based on reports from Channels, Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU President decided not to attend the meeting because a proposal had already been submitted to the Federal Government based on the last meeting that was held.

According to him, ASSU would henceforth, only honour any form of interrogation with the Federal Government after receiving a positive reply to their proposal of a new offer.
