Atiku Abubakar Set To Dump APC For PDP Ahead Of 2019 Elections

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar is set to contest for the post of the Nigerian president come 2019.

Reports from Punch Nigeria claims that Atiku Abubakar is making plans to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a party he left for APC years back in order to contest as the Nigerian president.

Rumours maybe, the ex- vice president would be contesting shoulder to shoulder against the former governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido by 2019.

According to an insider who is a member of the Board of Trustees for PDP, the buoyant businessman plans to leave APC for PDP because he knows that he stands no chance to contest while in APC.

His words;

“Atiku knows that he may not have the chance to contest the APC ticket, and that’s why we have been talking. He wants to be President and as it is, nothing is sure for him in his new party. He still believes that his former party, which is the PDP, is a formidable party on which platform he can realise his age-long ambition.”

These stories might not just be rumours after all  especially after the Women Affairs Minister, Aisha Alhassan addressed the Adamawa state native as the next Nigerian president while in his house. The minister who spoke entirely in Hausa dialect said the delegation was there to rejoice with him for the good health bestowed on him by God and also for the just celebrated Sallah.

Mrs Aisha said;

“Mr President, our father, Nigeria’s president for 2019. God willing, in your presence today are your people who have been placed under your care for forever. They’ve come to pay tribute and greet you for the Sallah celebrations and also to rejoice with you for your health.”
