Nigerian professional female footballer, Asisat Oshoala becomes Lagos State Sports Ambassador shortly after being named Africa’s Best Women’s Footballer of the year in Accra , Ghana for the third time on 4th of January. The super falcon’s forward who also plays for Chinese side Dalian Quanjian F.C. has many outstanding awards to her name.
Following her ever dazing achievements, Asisat has been appointed as Lagos State Sports Ambassador by the Lagos state Governor, Akinwumi Ambode. The 23 year old footballer could not hide her excitement as she took to social media to announce the well deserved feat.
Despite all her achievements so far, the beautiful young lady looks forward to keep making Nigeria, Nigerians and Africa proud. She mentioned the upcoming 2019 Women’s World cup as her target. Her words below;
“I am happy for all I have achieved, but I want to say it that there are more to achieve for myself and Nigeria. We have the Women’s Championship coming up this year and my target is for us to win it again and also qualify for the World Cup”.
“I am not happy that we did not play any game last year but this is another year which also happens to be African Women’s Nations Cup year, there is a need for us to play some quality friendly matches and also to work harder to be able to win again and qualify for the World Cup. She told CSN, Lagos
