The incumbent Deputy Governor of Bauchi state, Nuhu Gidado resigned from office yesterday 23rd of May 2018.
Based on reports gathered, the ex deputy governor somewhat feels incapable of running for second term as against the single term promise he made to his people while campaigning years back. Apparently, Governor Muhammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has intentions of becoming the executive governor of the state the second time, an act that makes Mr Gidado uncomfortable.
In the resignation letter he tendered to the governor, Gidado expressed his lack of zeal to remain in office to the end of his tenure. He however believes that the Governor wouldn’t be too surprised as he had hinted him before now.
Mr Gidado thanked Governor Abubakar and the people of the state for the opportunity to serve as deputy governor of the state. This resignation makes Mr Gidado the third high-ranking official that have left Governor Abubakar’s cabinet since year 2015 when he became Bauchi state governor .
