June 12 Is Not A Public Holiday, Presidency To Nigerians

Federal Government says there won’t be public holiday on the new Democracy Day, June 12th of this year.

Contrary to assumptions made by Nigerians of a possible public holiday to mark the new Democracy day on June 12, words from Aso Rock has cleared the air by announcing that no public holiday would be declared for 12th of June this year. Albeit, starting from next year, June 12 would be declared a public holiday in honour of late MKO Abiola.

Below is the statement;

“The Federal Government wishes to clarify to the public that the federal public holiday on June 12 recently declared as the new Democracy Day begins next year 2019, and not this year. Hence, June 12 this year is not a public holiday”.
